The course proposed is approx. 2hr in duration (90 minutes in vehicle), including a classroom-based briefing/presentation on the theory of skids, front-wheel, rear-wheel & four-wheel skids, ABS, TCS & ESP systems, and pulse braking. As well as understanding the types of skid, it is more important to understand the causes, and this will be extensively explored on the course, utilising our SkidCars.
On arrival, participants will receive tea and coffee and then have the all-important safety & training briefing for the day. This is also an opportunity for the delegates to offer any specific concerns relating to their general driving or any of the course content.
Setting the scene for any training course is of paramount importance.
As with all our practical training courses, this course includes a pre-course RED Driver Profile (online RDP) and, post-training, a full course report will be e-mailed directly to the participant and course administrator as required.
This ensures that full H&S Duty of Care responsibilities are covered.

The Skid Car is the perfect way to learn what causes a vehicle to skid and indeed how to avoid them. The Skid Car, unlike the Skid Pan, can replicate a variety of road surfaces from wet to ice and from snow to aquaplaning.
All drivers will learn at their own pace under the watchful and experienced eye of our trainers, learning in a fun and safe environment. This is an invaluable life skill for all drivers and provides the knowledge to ‘Recognise & Avoid’ skids in the future.
All drivers of whatever standard should learn what causes a skid and this cause is perfect for this; to understand how and why and what to do if it does go wrong is a skill every driver should have.
All drivers will leave with the knowledge of what causes a vehicle to skid and what to do to stop this from happening. Additionally, an online report and certificate is also provided post training.
